SceneKey Rides started in 2023 with a simple observation: the ride-hailing apps that Kenyans use every day were built for somewhere else. The maps didn't match. The fare math didn't add up. Drivers got paid in a week. Riders waited twelve minutes for a car that should have taken three.
We built SceneKey Rides to fix that. Today, 250,000+ riders and 30,000+ drivers use SceneKey Rides across Kenya — from Mombasa Road to Mombasa coast, from Eldoret to the Maasai Mara.

The team
SceneKey Rides is built by a team of 90+ engineers, designers, and operators across Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and the wider East Africa region. We've shipped at Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Waymo, and Stripe — and we've been on the other side as riders who couldn't get a car at 1am in the rain.
